Dr. Lauren Elder is committed to providing neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed care to her clients. Her approach to therapy is flexible, client-centered, and strengths based. Therapy goals can include management of anxiety and depression, unmasking, managing sensory needs, and building skills in self-advocacy. She is a clear and direct communicator and works to provide clients with a high level of support. Many of Dr. Elder’s clients are young children struggling with emotional regulation and late-diagnosed and/or high masking autistic adults, including those experiencing autistic burnout. Dr. Elder also works with those with significant mental health challenges such as PTSD, schizoaffective and dissociative disorders. She provides play therapy, individual, parent support, family and couples. In addition to her work as a provider at Ascent, Dr. Elder works as a consultant to foundations, corporations, and government agencies, delivering trainings on a variety of neurodiversity and mental health topics.

She is also a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries. Dr. Brittany "Britt" Pope is a postdoctoral associate with over 10 years of experience in mental health. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and a PsyD in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Pope understands the importance of a positive therapeutic rapport and seeks to establish a strong relationship with each and every one of her clients. She utilizes an integrative approach, combining Interpersonal Processing Therapy and affirming Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to provide experiential and skills-based therapy that supports your journey to mental wellness. In addition to her considerable experience providing mental health services to the neurodivergent population, she also specializes in postpartum and perinatal care, perinatal loss, and women’s health concerns.

Jordan “JP” Pollard School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his first master’s degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was awarded the Edith Baker Fellowship, specializing in integrated health care to bridge the gap between physical health, mental health, and health behavior. Following his master’s program, JP was awarded the Heinz Fellowship, a social justice oriented fellowship that works with students in urban schools in collaboration with teachers, staff, and school leaders to support students in academic, social, and emotional growth. JP later earned a second master’s degree in education at the University of Cincinnati. As a Ph.D student, JP has been awarded the Provost Fellowship and earned the role of Senior Research Assistant in the Health-Education-Justice (HEJ) lab, which focuses on the social determinants of health, seeking to understand and mitigate the consequences of mass incarceration on child and family education and health.

Kathleen King is a School Psychology PhD student at the University of Cincinnati. She received her master’s in education at the University of Cincinnati, where she served as a Adjunct Professor in the school’s Transition and Access (TAP) program, a four-year educational program for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Through her collegiate teaching experience and work as a research assistant, she cultivated her data analysis and scientific writing skills. Kathleen has extensive experience working with children, including the development and implementation of an emotion regulation small group program for students in New Richmond Schools. In her PsyD program at Xavier, she is dedicated to her research on executive functioning and its impacts on emotional and behavioral regulation.
